Many thanks to Robert Burress of Shootinghip for sharing his best of 2017. Robert is a Hampshire wedding photographer, based in Petersfield, and a member of The South East Selective.
2017. It was a pretty big year with lots of life defining moments for me as a person. Bought a house, rehomed a black labrador and got married. It was also a big year as one Hampshire’s best wedding photographers. I covered a wide variety of weddings. Small, large, outdoor, winter, sunshine, rain, barns, hotels, museums, pubs, gardens and schools. I continued to work at familiar venues like Tithe Barn and Gate Street Barn whilst revisiting some old favourites like Larmer Tree Gardens and Hampton Court House. I saw things I’ve never seen before. Like a Bride playing her own entrance music (she’s easy to spot as she gets out of the cab with her trumpet). I saw a kilt photo where I learned exactly what a Scotsman wears under it. Safe to say I didn’t include it as the answer is nothing. I saw tender love, insane partying, hilarious speeches and how rain, no matter the intensity, cannot ruin a great wedding. I photographed a garden party with picnic hampers for 20 and a marquee in the family garden for 180.
But most of what I take away from 2017 is this. No matter how weird the world has been. From Rocket Man to name calling from the White House. One thing prevails. Cheesy as it sounds, its just as Hugh Grant told us in Love Actually. Love really is all around.
Sit back and and enjoy Rob’s year!
