We adored 2015, it was such an amazing year for us and we can honestly say that even though we have been doing this “job” over ten years now, we are more in love with it than ever. We pushed ourselves harder than ever before, not just to capture but to create. Four words have been the focus of our year; Story, Composition, Light, Feeling and they have taken us on an incredible journey that we feel we are only just started on.
We really concentrated on bringing our love of street photography more into our work and we travelled to Rome, Amsterdam and New York to push ourselves outside of our comfort zone and try to develop new layers to our photography. Ever since we’ve been on a mission to incorporate the skills we learnt on the streets more into our wedding work to try to create images that challenge and excite us in equal measure.
We were honoured to receive some amazing feedback from our peers this year, winning first place in the International Rangefinder Annual (wedding category) with our image “The Snow Bride”, being proclaimed Best Wedding Photographer in the North East by the Wedding Industry Awards and also taking home awards from Wedding Photography Select, The Wedding Photographer Society and the Wedding Photo Journalist Association. More importantly though we’ve been thrilled by the response from our couples who are just an extraordinary bunch that we’re honoured to have worked with throughout the year.
So 2015 was an absolute blast and to celebrate an amazing year we created a little slideshow of our best bits – no directing, no posing, just real moments. Turn up the volume and enjoy the year that was 2015, York Place Style.
