As a wedding photographer there’s nothing more freeing and exhilarating than working with a couple that truly understands your style and are ready to place their absolute faith in you to tell their story through your eyes. It’s fair to say we clicked with Rox & Scott from the start and when we came to ask them whether there was anything in particular they wanted us to capture on the day their instructions were simple: no posing, no groups, no cheese, just do what you do best.
We were more than happy to oblige…
The wedding took place at York’s fantastic Gray’s Court set (quite literally) in the shadow of the minster and was set to be an intimate wedding with a focus on just having fun with friends and family. When it comes to wedding photography we’re a little obsessed with playing with available light and there was just something magic about the light that day – the fast moving clouds providing a rapidly changing canvas of dispersed light and golden beams of sunshine bursting across the gardens and through the historic Gray’s Court’s old Jacobean windows – the perfect playground for the natural light wedding photographer.
All of Rox & Scott’s family and friends were a joy to be around (the kids providing some particularly special moments) and needless to say the amazing couple dove head-first into their wedding and lived and loved every last second of it (even if that meant that by the end Rox’s beautiful pristine white dress bore one or two scars from a day lived full and care-free!) We can’t thank Rox and Scott enough for placing such absolute trust in us and inviting us to be part of a truly special day. Thanks also to the family, friends and all the staff at Gray’s Court York who were so integral in making it such a memorable occasion for everyone. We had a blast and we hope you enjoy looking through all the images of Rox & Scott’s Gray’s Court wedding photography.
