I’ve been photographing weddings in the Scottish Highlands since 2008, particularly on and around the Isle of Skye, which attracts couples from all over the world with it’s rugged, remote beauty. Over the past couple of years I have seen many more couples decide to elope to Skye and I’ve become a bit of an elopement and tiny wedding specialist, which I absolutely love.
My aim is to capture images which show both the emotion and connection between the bride and groom, as well as their relationship with the epic landscapes of the Highlands. Producing beautiful portraits of couples in love is what makes me happy, although I also love being able to spend the whole day with them, photographing the excitement and nerves of the getting ready and romance and intimacy of the ceremony.
Although I specialise as a Scottish elopement photographer I still shoot a number of traditional weddings each year and enjoy documenting the family relationships and the joy of family and friends celebrating together.
